No better image to start with than the one above, our women’s hockey team came back in the final 4 minutes to win in overtime. It did not look promising late in the third but the ladies turned it up.
I’m very proud to be a Canadian, I even stood at home when they played the anthem at the medal podium.
I do like to offer a slight gripe now and again, here is today’s. I have an Android phone and on it I have the NHL.com app. It gives scores, schedule, standings, news etc regarding NHL games. During the Olympics there is also a Sochi section which includes…..all of the above…in regards to men’s hockey.
Nothing about the ladies…zip. WTF? I mean I’m not handing out ribbons in whatever color the women’s movement uses but come on…
So yesterday I had zero booze. I ate a normal diet, eggs and bacon, chilli, some veg with hummus, turkey sandwich on HP Pita.
I’m down…a pound I think, 246. Seems good to me.
Beagle is at 199.8, he did have a few tracksuits on poker night and I confirmed he had a peanut butter sand- wich after dinner…oh…and some chips and salsa plus a chocolate chip cookie…hangover medicine.

Russett’s Return
If he doesn’t watch it he will be over 200 again. right about now.
Beagle has returned from paradise looking like he suffered a panther attack. Never get trapped in a locked bathroom with a wild animal.
Beagle is still under 200 though, a great feat. To go away on vacation to an all inclusive and come back just up 5 pounds is huge. He is only 4 foot 7 so there isn’t a lot of room for extra pizza in this guy.
Things are quiet over on the Parker front. I think he may be happy at 244.
He weighs less than me…obviously some sort of diet or food restriction is better than what I’ve been doing. my best
turkey imitation.
Gobble gobble. I still haven’t gotten to the point where I don’t crave food constantly. Last year when I did the sugar detox I lost over 20 pounds…Should I offer myself up another empty promise and give it a try….the agony…
Yesterday I did a intermittent fast and I’m attempting it again today. It’s not really a diet, its just a different way of eating. You don’t eat for 16 straight hours, 8 of which you are likely sleeping, then do eat for 8. There has been lots of research on this and it looks to be a very good diet for men. They do advise women not do it. it seems
women are more suited to graze all day long where men are only supposed to graze when the hunt is over it is part
of our Paleo existence.
I’m not really sure why they call a diet Paleo when it really is a carb restricting diet. You see folks, very little of what we eat today hasn’t been genetically modified since the paleolithic. We have modified everything we’ve domesticated for food…I mean when is the last time you ate a Yak? I would seriously frown upon the hunting of elephant…Not only that, I’m not a big fan of liver, hell the chance of me eating brain or lung is nill…zip..zero. nada
I can take away intermittent fasting from it though. for the next 3 or 4 days anyway.
Ahhh..do all of my ’diets’ exist for such a short period of time. it would seem.

fries with that?
Again, it’s really as simple as calories in vs calories out. Now you likely won’t live as long if you are satisfying your BMR daily with pop, but you won’t be fat!
That’s the part I’m missing…the 10, 000 calorie binges, poker night, peanut butter toast before bed, 3rd din- ners…these are the things that make Chunk…Chunk.
I do have a bottle of Mount Gay 1703 old cask waiting for me at a clients house…I may have to pick that up for a wee sip over the weekend.
Well, that is about it for today…men’s hockey at noon, Go Canada, a trip to the gym…and controlled gobble…hopefully right through the weekend!
The Quote of the day:
Somebody should tell us, right at the start of our lives, that we are dying. Then we might live life to the limit, every minute of every day. Do it! I say. Whatever you want to do, do it now! There are only so many tomorrows.
Pope Paul VI
Just remember kids…I’m not a religious man, but a great quote. Cheerio…
