Count down to the sugar detox

Looks like I’ll start the sugar detox on January 2nd…I did this before, it works and it’s not that painful other than the lack of beer.

I think I lost over 20 pounds last time I did this…I’m going to attempt to go bigger this time!

Pre Xmas post

To all of you a Merry Christmas.

During all my shopping this year I wished every cashier a Merry Christmas, I didn’t get a single one in return…several same to you’s but that’s it. No good.

We dropped this off and more at the Salvation Army for the toy drive.

Charlotte wore her Santa hat to drop off the Toys, it was a good time…Then we went to visit Mo at Treats for breakfast and … treats. No diet today!

Getting the house cleaned up after that counter has been a chore but it must go on, xmas party on the 28th! I have put my diet off until Jan 2nd…maybe the sugar detox…the pain!

The end of the start…

Let’s be honest, I haven’t really started yet…on the diet front. Last night I managed some chips, a couple chocolate bars, a few beers…

No weigh in today.

Yesterday I also managed to finish polishing the countertop, it looks good. Today I’ll finish sealing it with a wa- ter based sealer, Cheng product.

Not bad at all…

The job wasn’t easy, I polished it dry which did cause a LOT of dust…but clean up is under way and I’m very happy with the result…cost–>under $1000 for 62 square feet of counter.

Next up today, fix this wordpress theme or find another…

Attack of the xmas cookies

I was down…I saw 242 on the scale after poker which I consider a great success. And then…And then…Xmas cookies, lots of them. Delicious treats!

I ate 40 plus of them.

I’m at 244.2 this morning, I’ve seen 246 since Wednesday. It’s Christmas, this isn’t easy!

I’ve been working hard on the countertops, messy hard work. Today I slurry it, which is a top coat to fill any small holes.

The house is a DEEsaster…the wife is moderately going crazy over it…no beatings yet though!

The man weight drops off!

The best thing about the man diet is the first 10 pounds. I’ve been over this many many times, man weight can fluctuate 10 pounds any given day.

The first 10 pounds of man weight is really all in the mind, its make believe.

For example, this morning (2 am thanks to a 3 years old), I weigh in at 243.8. 6.2 pounds lighter than yesterday.

How?

Man weight.

Ya I went to the gym, the new local gym, plyomax. It’s okay. For a new gym the ratio of gym douche to human was astronomical.

There are 3 guys and 3 women in the gym and 2 of the chicks and 1 of the guys are reserving equipment using towels and dumbbells while they work on other equipment…

It’s very important when there are 4 people in a 9000 square foot gym that you ensure no one touches anything you might want to use.

If you ever wonder which guy is reserving equipment…he has tribal etched into his haircut… I know that says enough on that subject.

Anyway…the wrist ached, legs killled, back sore…all in all a wonderful experience.

The new gym is nice enough, it uses torque equipment, legendary for making equipment set up for people under 5’5. Not a good starting point for 6’3 when you have to begin a squat on your knees…

On the bright side, the Athletic club opens just across the bridge in a year…

I’m going back to the gym today, a light push of this or that, hell I may even break into the 230’s tomorrow.

Okay okay…I’ll do it.

We all see the date. It’s on the side of this post somewhere. Monday morning, jumped on the scale, 250.2 lbs. That’s a lot…

So we begin the man diet. This morning for breakfast…2 hard boiled eggs.

The big challenge will be getting to the gym, I’m still recovering from a broken wrist and to be honest my en- tire body is killing me.

About 5 years ago one of my uncles asked me if I felt old yet, at the time the answer was no…things change in 5 years.

I’ve blown my knee, my recent broken wrist is a pain in the butt and my back isn’t getting better with all this extra belly!

On the bright side of life…I poured the concrete countertop this weekend, it’s looking good. The polisher is due to arrive Wednesday and I’ll go at that for a day or 2.

A pound a day keeps the doctor away

245.6 this morning, A pound a day with zero exercise. I’m not really dieting either at this point, I’m simply not eating lots of candy and chips!

The events, ordered the dye for the concrete countertops yesterday, should arrive today. In more exciting news we picked up an outdoor patio heater.

There is no excuse not to continue drinking beer outside all winter now…

Diet…maybe I will start this today. It looks like we will be heading south with the kids some time in the next month, it sure would be nice to just be moderately obese for the trip!

A new HIGH! …almost

Jumped on the scale this morning at 249.8 That’s pushing it, really really pushing it.

Since I last touched base the wife and I went out to ZIZI’s kitchen for dinner. Nice little place…I ate too much! Followed up by many many too many drinks.

ah ya, that was Friday night, yesterday I finished framing in what will be concrete contertops, and had mcdon- alds and five guys during the day.

So no excuse for the almost 250 pounds other than bad eating and laziness!

Tipping the Scales

The man blog did not exist yesterday… Poker went 3 am with more than a few pops. Florida track suits do offer a bit of the superman complex of the liver.

Poker was a win, up $120. Not much but much better than losing.

Food was delish, direinzo’s platter. There is enough meat on one of these platters for 8 guys to build a 7 pound sandwich.

I had 2…

and I woke up Thursday morning after 3 hours of sleep tipping the scales at ———–248.6 Not my personal best but damn close.

This morning I managed 246. This due to the slight loss in man weight. Man weight, for those of you that don’t know, is a 10 pound buffer that any man can lose within 2 days of starting any diet. This same man weight can be gained in 8 minutes upon leaving the previously mentioned diet.

I started off right yesterday, eating cottage cheese and fruit, some diet chili for lunch…but I followed that up with a couple popsicles. I also had some of my wives diet dinner which was a slow cooker combination of chicken and quinoa. Not bad but it isn’t on the menu at the Ritz, at least not as prepared by Chef Ev!

Ya, the Man Blog…

Time to get this rolling again.

Focus–>diet. I’m fat. Fat fat. A recent wrist break has enabled me to gain 15 pounds in under a month. That is serious man weight.

Today is Wednesday, poker night. Tomorrow I wake up to a bit of clean eating. The Sugar Detox of sorts.
